Golden Standard Podcast
The Golden Standard Podcast is an infusion of skateboarding culture and local business. The format will be one of a kind where we will host one guest, but we will allow for live viewers to join in for questions or just to chime in on the topics that are being covered.
Kind of like how people can call in on a radio station to give their two cents.
The first guest is already lined up and is Adam Klakowicz of RAW GRAFFIX. You can find out more about Adam in an interview we did a few years back.
Beyond Adam, there are about 8 additional guest lined up. It’s more-so me not pulling the trigger on the effort.
But that has changed.
The time feels right for a number of reasons.
Why now then?
I really wanted a solution where I could go LIVE seamlessly on a few platforms.
Then, a few days ago, the tech gods dropped Restream.io on my lap.
They also invented multistreaming.
Multistreaming is exactly what it sounds like – LIVE streaming to multiple platforms at once.
For the purpose of the Golden Standard Podcast, I am going to roll with YouTube, Instagram and TikTok LIVE. TikTok should be interesting because I let my 9 year old boy hijack the account. So it’s mostly Squid Game edits on that account, but it’s all good, he’s my future video editor.
This podcast means a lot to me personally and it’s time to take the plunge and make it happen.
What will the Podcast be About?
I haven’t really focused so much on what the podcast will be about. There really is no general theme, just the ongoing support for skateboarding culture and local business.
Where this whole effort started.
However, with that said, it will generally consist of learning more about a business or brand that is a given guest’s effort.
It could be a non-busninesses, like NFPs or charities as well. As long as all the guests are within the confines of skateboarding culture, that’s really all that matters to me.
There are much bigger goals with the hopeful growth of this effort.
Golden SB
Golden SB is a concept from a few years back that I want to get back to.
Golden SB would be a NBD, to my knowledge.
I intend for it to be a hybrid Skateboard company and NFP youth program designed for inner-cities/lower income areas.
Golden SB will follow the skate scene in these areas, scout talent, but also look for those in the most need, whether financially, situationally, or mentally.
From there, we give them a shot.
By giving them a shot, I mean mentoring, life coaching, training and coaching them up to par so they have a legitimate shot at a future through skateboarding.
At no cost, of course. This is for the broke folk like myself growing up.
I really could have used an effort like this, so why not do it myself!
Much like the effort of GoSkate, who has instructors nationwide, Golden SB would have Mentors nationwide to help young skateboarders on a personal level overcoming personal challenges, and on their board as well since all mentors must have instructor experience.
